DANCE SPLASH – THE MICHAEL FOWLER CENTRE – WELLINGTON
THURSDAY 3 SEPTEMBER, 2015
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
Your child has been included in the group heading into Wellington on Thursday 3rd September to perform a dance we have been putting together this term during our lunch hours.
Those that came last year will have a good idea of what the evening entails and once again the show will be held at the Michael Fowler Centre.
This year I have close to 50 children performing so I have booked a bus to take us into Wellington. As most parents/families come in to watch the performance, children will be returning home with their own parents. If there are some children who need a ride home, please make sure you fill in the below slip so I can sort it out. Parking was troublesome and expensive last year which is another reason I have booked a bus. A cost of $10 is payable to the office for the bus and costume element all of the children will be wearing.
The children have known for quite some time what they need to wear. The theme for our dance this year is ‘INSIDE OUT’ and the 5 emotions portrayed in the movie. Please check out the Dance Splash Blog for more information. http://waikanaeschooldancesplash.blogspot.co.nz/
Tickets are also available now from our school office for $5 each. Performers do NOT have to purchase a ticket however anyone wishing to watch does need to have one. There will be limited door sales.
The organisers will have allocated us a dressing room for our preparation and we will take our belongings there before our rehearsal. The actual performance starts at 5.15pm. All performers need to be in their dressing rooms at 4.45pm.
A proposed timeline of the afternoon:
2pm - Bus leaves Waikanae School
3pm - Arrive at the Michael Fowler Centre, Wellington
3.20pm - Rehearsal slot
3.30pm - Get changed and ready in costumes
4.30pm - All children seated downstairs in the auditorium/Parents and audience members find their seats upstairs.
5.15pm - Show begins!
